[edit] Google Summer of Code , 2008
If you are 18 years or above on April 14th 2008 and a student, you could be part of the Google Summer of Code 2008. According to Google a student is ,"an individual enrolled in or accepted into an accredited institution including (but not necessarily limited to) colleges, universities, masters programs, PhD programs and undergraduate programs."
- A list of the Mentoring Organizations is available on the GSoc 2008, Home Page.
- Student Applications would be accepted from March 24th 2008 and ends on March 31st 2008: GSoc 2008 Timeline
- Google provides a stipend of US$ 5000 for each accepted project. US$ 4500 is for the student and US$ 500 USD is for the mentoring organization.
- You can download, print and put up the Google Summer of Code 2008 Announcement in your college/institute notice board. Get it here.
[edit] How To Propose a Project
- Check the list of Mentoring Organizations on the GSoc 2008, Home Page
- Select the Mentoring Organization, you would like to work with and check the page linked for that organization from the GSoc Home Page.
- Propose your project idea as per the format mentioned by the Mentoring organization in their respective web page
